Notice of anti-static requirements for PCBA processing and production

Since PCBA processing often involves a variety of electrostatic-sensitive electronic components and some processing techniques that have certain requirements for electrostatic protection, certain anti-static requirements must be followed in PCBA processing. Electrostatic warning signs are mainly used for posting, hanging, and placing on factories, equipment, components, and packaging to remind people of the possibility of electrostatic discharge or electrical overload damage during operation.

Workshop anti-static requirements

According to the requirements of product production level, the production workshop should be equipped with corresponding anti-static facilities, and the ground wire should be independent and reliable. Maintain constant temperature and humidity in the workshop. Divide the electrostatic safe working area, and post obvious anti-static warning signs.

The grounding system outside the workshop is tested once a year, and the grounding system of the floor/pad, workbench, etc. in the workshop is tested every six months, and corresponding records are made.

The temperature and humidity in the workshop are controlled at (25±2)°C and 65%±5%RH respectively; they are measured twice a day and corresponding records are made.

ESD Protection Requirements for Employees

1. When entering the anti-static area, anti-static overalls and anti-static shoes must be worn according to regulations;

2. Before touching electrostatic-sensitive components, you must wear a grounding wrist strap or grounding foot strap as required, and pass the corresponding electrostatic test;

3. Items that are prone to static electricity are prohibited from being brought into the anti-static area;

4. The handling, storage and distribution of electrostatic sensitive components must be stored in anti-static packaging;

5. The anti-static packaging can only be opened after taking corresponding anti-static measures;

6. The trolleys and shelves used in the anti-static area must have proper grounding devices;

7. It is forbidden to wear anti-static work clothes and work shoes out of the work area, and clean them regularly according to regulations;

8. Cleaning agents approved by static protection personnel must be used for cleaning the anti-static working surface;

9. Avoid putting electrostatic-sensitive components and circuit boards together with plastic products or tools (such as computers and computer terminals);

10. Connect all tools and machines to the ground wire;

11. Use electrostatic protection table mats;

12. Employees without wristbands approach the electrostatic protection workstation;

13. Immediately report any possibility of electrostatic damage.

Precautions during operation

1. Touch the work surface with both hands before holding the components, so that the static electricity on the hands is transmitted to the earth through the anti-static table;

2. Place the device pins down on a table that dissipates static electricity;

3. When holding the integrated circuit, you should grasp the body of the integrated block, not the pins;

4. When operating electronic components, they should be held on the edge of the PCB, and do not directly touch the components or the circuit on the board;

5. Do not drag or slide electronic components on any surface;

6. Non-conductors should keep a distance of more than 1m from the electrostatic safe working area;

7. Only take the components and circuit boards out of the anti-static packaging box in the electrostatic safe working area;

8. Put the temporarily unused electrostatic-sensitive components in the antistatic container or packing box;

9. Reduce the number of handling to a minimum.
